Tug of War Competition Drawn
The Pilton v Bradiford Tug of War - dating back to the Coronation in 1953 - was reborn on 2nd June 2012 at the Bradiford House Picnic as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
After a brilliant afternoon of beer, cider, Pimms, coconut shies, children's games and picnicking, teams from The Reform Inn in Pilton and The Windsor Arms in Bradiford fought out a tug of war. With some 'royal Windsor' assistance (see above), the gentlemen's match was won by The Reform and they were awarded the Pilton Festival Jubilee Cup.
After a Reform Inn scratch ladies' team was formed, the ladies' match was won by The Windsor Arms - an honourable draw. A Pilton Festival Ladies' Cup is being awarded and details will be posted when we have tracked it down! It is hoped to repeat the challenge in 2013.
